Providing I actually get the stupid printer to work, this will be a badge for *redkam. Redkam, aka Gabby, has always gone out of her way for Ty n' I. This is just a little something small for her since we'll be both hitting up the Pony Con.
Image is of her summer wing MLP character, Cardinal Melody. Enjoy Gabby! Cardinal Melody©RedKam / Gabby Fullerton My Little Pony©Hasbro Image©Melissa O'Brien 2008 Note I apologize for the largish watermark. For some reason, MLP themed art seems to be frequently taken and sold on Ebay. Happened to countless friends and hopefully this is a first step to see it does not happen with this piece. |

I love how you've done her wings too, very effective <3
And kudos to Redkam, beautiful character design! Simple yet gorgeous! Amazing stuff from both! <33

At number 10 upon the stair,
I saw a man who wasn't Blair.
He wasn't Blair again today,
Oh how I wish he'd go away.

Gargoyles lives on in DVD and comic form !
I first separate my linework from my colors. All colors go beneath the linework (linework set on multiply)
Then I color. Usually the bottom being base, building up like on hair, mask/markings/details. After I've all those layers down, I then make a top layer over all the other colors (not including the linework) and do the base color(s) for the wings.
I played with the layer options and did the brighter options on another layer above base wing color. I think this wing layer was set to 'hard light'. I then dropped the opaque level a bit. The shadow on the wing is just that. I built the shadowing in on my shadow-layers.
I hope this makes sense. ^_^;;
Unfortunately, I only have PSP; can't afford Photoshop yet. -..- *envy* But there's probably something sort of like it I could do with the program I've got... just have to figure out how. Thank you!
