I dug out my Smithsonian Handbook on Horses and was flipping through it. Came across an interesting breed called a Karabakh. Apparently this horse breed has been around from about 12th century, and slowly going extinct. I think they mentioned (via wiki) about 1000 left.
The breed's history is in association with Arabians and Akhal-Tekes.
Honestly the image was a sketch I decided to finish. The anatomy is off for the breed. It should be lighter. I was also intrigued by the fact the breed comes in something called 'Metallic Chestnut and Metallic Bay'. I attempted the Metallic Chestnut.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
