Massively important disclaimer
By no means do I want or think Worgen should look like this. In fact, I did it after everyone (back in Alpha/Beta days) were caterwauling about the aesthetics. I forget exactly what was said or why or where... but this was the result.
This was a demonstration of people complaining the do's and don't's of worgen female models. Many wanted them dolled up and pretty. In fact, many guessing from Blizzard's trend for most female races, were betting they'd be like some female wolven barbie.
So this was the Please No, Blizzard image.
It was done back when they first were announced in 2010.
Hurp Derp Worgen
PS: I'm pretty sure those familiar with my worgen know I lean towards the more feral / were type worgen than... this... atrocity.
PPS: This was also due to the 'scene' hairstyles Blizz originally had on alpha females. I was not fond of that option.. In hindsight, I'd GLADLY take the alpha model over the beta, though. :/
I prefer alpha version than retail, even if it looked somewhat cute, there were customization options and it was not THAT cute, where retail model is just plain ugly in a very, very twisted way.
make more of these.
Lol, even though I'm not a huge fan of overly feminine werewolves/worgen either, I'd GLADLY take this kind of barbie-worgen over the chihuahua we have now. Such a shame too as worgen is such an amazing race, and the males look very wolf-ish enough.
Agreed; I'm thrilled the other races are getting updates at least, but there's no guarantee the worgen and goblin will get an update, and if they do it will be after the vanilla and BC models - who knows how long after that will be. I guess I should be happy we got a "maybe" though.
But if they do go through with it.. and they turn out better than whatever we have now (or, y'know, not just a higher resolution Chihuahua with better animation), I'd surely race change my druid. I understand goblins and worgens are not old at all, and that's why Blizz is iffy about updating them along with the other races. But just because they aren't as old, doesn't negate the fact that they both are very sub-par to the new models, female worgens being the worst. I think the Goblin model portrays their race well, even if I never will play one, but even if they don't look bad, they still can not compare to the updated animations, textures and so on of the new models.
PS. Love your work
I agree; I'd like for the worgen female models to look far more feral and dangerous. This is a curse, for crying out loud, not some transformation into as you put it, a female wolven barbie!
I do like the picture, though, it is cute.
She looks like she should be in a James Bond movie, rising up out of the surf at a beach, shaking the water out of her hair.
Even if that's a 'derp' look or whatever, the character looks well drawn.
I generaly love sketches and see how the artist makes his construct. This is not so bad as a furry, but yeah not really what some of us seek through worgens
Personaly I think you've done the greatest female worgen design, World of Warcraft speaking. I really like your character design of Airesy on Female worgen test sheet 2, your efforts remind me of the Charr race in GW2, they have succeed in not making perfect dolls for females character and it give a lot of personality to the race.
but i think she looks lovely. the right foot is kinda positioned awkwardly, but i love the pose. very nice, even for an old piece.
And, despite your dislike for her design, I have to admit, I like how it came out.
At least the panda girls look acceptable so far.
I can't the only one that thinks this is pretty good? lol
